ONLY CHILD — New artistic sprout of China

There is only one child in a family that sounds like arabian nights in the occident.
It’s a basic national policy in the city of China at least. It’s also a kind of adventure
as ONLYCHILD as a group to organize an exhibition of fine arts. Cause of it’s easy to
confuse another edition of post 80s that’s the meaning of this exhibition. ONLYCHILD is
not used time as an unit, but is according the structure of family as an unit in China.
At the present of China, the composing of personnel in the family which is the smallest
unit in the country shall affect the system of consume of China directly. Along with
Chinese old familial wither away of three generations, four generations gradually that
is inevitable to make ONLYCHILD step on the historical stage of China. ONLYCHINLD is not
only a isolated concept of art, but also a contept of society. ONLYCHILD made out by the
system of society absolutly, of course Onlychild is not only according one child as a
precondition. At least, in the village of China, including outlying village, there are
still more than two children in many families, from this meaning to talk, curating the
exhibition of Onlychild emphasize particularly on the artistic new feasibility which
based on the new ethic of society. At least, Chinese artists whom is the whole multiformity
and rifeness with simple consumerism attitude are different with the artists of same age
who are from Asia, Japanese, Korea. So the exhibition invites some artists were born on 1970s.
to Invite the artists grew up the system of Onlychild is the precondition of academic, also
to reflect how to grasp on the realism of making and the limit of unreality when the artists
to deal with the realism subject matter, including the appropriation of subject matter of
history and polity. There is hard to division which is the reality, which is unreality for
you at present of China. The vague of status of Onlychild themselves is inevitable in the
collateral era of network and village world. At the same time, the consciousness of making
new art is inevitable. Onlychild is a hodgepodge on the modality of artistic vision. The
exhibition hope to figure a story of new art of China in the overspeed condition of language
at the present of China, have no intention of breaking the era.
