Tranquil’s Naturer---Yu Tian Cheu Solo Exhibition

Serene Liberty
Written by Curator: Zhou Jian
November 3rd, 2007
Abstract painting is visual representation of human’s pursuit for liberty, truth, simplicity and spirit. Chinese-born American artist, Zhou Yuntian is one of the contemporary representatives capable of fusing Chinese spirit together with western paintings.
His paintings always offer a refreshed feeling and sense of rhythm. The undercurrents of restrained passion do not sprout out like fountain, rather like mountain stream through anfractuous way of chock stones; cool, clear, while brewing vigor underneath. The creative energy is a combination of impetuous savageness and soft, peaceful attitude towards life, mingling with the marvel of touching emotions and outflow of real life glaze, conveying the message of deciphering being while sketches the outline of the universe. By his creation, he has presented the audience a surpassing beauty, leaving on our mind a momentary but perpetual liberty of peace and serenity.
Our major concern in this exhibition is how to culturally elevate the quality of the event from academic perspective through face-to-face communication with overseas artists, so that due attention could be directed to abstract art and the subject of constructing a harmonious society with collective force.
